Natural Resource Technology Assists Wisconsin Builders Association in One of the First Signed Green Tier Charter Agreements
Scott Hassett, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), signed an historic Green Tier Charter Agreement with the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) Development Council in a ceremony held in Appleton, Wisconsin on October 3, 2005. Natural Resource Technology participated in the WBA charter’s development, performed introductory training to introduce Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to a pilot group of WBA members and WDNR staff, and helped develop individual pilot members’ EMS programs.
Natural Resource Technology is the consultant of record in two of the three active Charter Agreement groups (Act 276, ss. 299.83(7E)), that have formed since the legislation has passed. American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Honors Natural Resource Technology with Engineering Achievement Award
As part of the We Energies project team, Natural Resource Technology received the 2005 annual ASCE-Wisconsin Section, Engineering Achievement Award for the remediation of a former manufactured gas plant (MGP) site performed at the historic Fox River canal and adjacent property in Appleton, Wisconsin.
The award recognized Natural Resource Technology’s use of an innovative in-situ stabilization process in which MGP residuals were immobilized by mixing impacted soil with engineered blends of Portland and slag cement. The blends were modified to accommodate the desired geotechnical properties in different areas of the property where low soil permeability, resistance to river erosion and bridge foundation support were needed.
